Spiced Pumpkin Cider Cocktail 

Ingredients (per mug):

  • 6 oz apple cider (fresh-pressed if you can get it)

  • 1 oz dark rum or bourbon (spiced rum works beautifully too)

  • 1 tbsp pumpkin purée (unsweetened canned or homemade)

  • 1 tsp maple syrup (or honey, to taste)

  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon

  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg

  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)

  • Cinnamon stick or star anise (for garnish)

Method:

  1. In a small saucepan, gently heat the apple cider, pumpkin purée, maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg until steaming but not boiling. Stir well to dissolve pumpkin.

  2. Remove from heat, stir in the rum or bourbon.

  3. Pour into a warmed mug.

  4. Top with a dollop of whipped cream if you like, then garnish with a cinnamon stick or star anise.
